10.12.2021 - How to work in an office after quarantine

Quarantine has undoubtedly left its mark on the most areas of society, including the office work. Some employers have completely stopped renting an office in a business center or elsewhere and had the employees telecommute. Thus, no rent of real estate in Kiev saved their money. However, there are companies that need the office rental and full-time employees for the successful operation of their business. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has developed rules of conduct in the room to be observed by any office employee and visitor.

According to the rules, all enterprises undertake to:

- inform their customers and partners about the current quarantine restrictions and terms of service by means of the available information resources;

- ensure the availability of disinfectants (liquid soap, antiseptics, disposable paper towels) for office employees, and, at the entrance to the commercial property, to organize a place for treating hands with an antiseptic with mandatory marking of this place;

- apply quarantine markings in and in front of the office. If services are provided to visitors, the quarantine markings should provide a distance of 1.5 meters;

- carry out disinfection measures (use wet sweeping, airing, surface treatment), collect and dispose of used personal protective means; and

- suspend from work employees with signs of illness or those in a risk group (age 60+ or chronic diseases).

Office employees undertake to:

- undergo temperature screening. In case of the respiratory disease sign manifestation or an increase in temperature (over 37.2 °C), employees are not allowed to work.

- wear masks and respirators indoors during the entire work shift

- treat hands with antiseptics or wash them with liquid soap every three hours

- avoid contact with persons with signs of respiratory disease.

- self-isolate, in case of self-detection of the symptoms.

The office guests and visitors undertake to:

- visit the office by previous appointment only

- observe the time interval in order to avoid a large crowd of people in the room

- wait outside for entering the office at a distance of 1.5 meters from other visitors, since there should not be more than one visitor in the office for every 10 square meters.

- wear masks and respirators indoors.

Certainly, the quarantine is still far from done, despite of some indulgences. However, you should not neglect the above recommendations, since not only your life and health, but also the life and health of the people around you may depend on them.
